Therefore, it is important to educate children about the importance of water, its numerous benefits, and how to conserve it and avoid wasting it. Humans need water daily for drinking, food, personal hygiene, and regulating body temperature. Animals also need it for drinking, and fish and whales live in it. Furthermore, it is essential for plant growth, which humans use extensively for food and various industries.

Therefore, children must learn how to preserve it by not wasting it in daily uses such as brushing teeth or bathing, and by avoiding polluting it by throwing garbage into it. The Islamic religion has urged us to preserve water by mentioning its importance, as it is the origin of all life, and we must all preserve it and be rational in its consumption.

But in reality, humans pollute water by dumping garbage, especially plastic waste, which poses a major threat to aquatic life. This is in addition to the leakage of sewage, oils, and chemicals and industrial waste from factories. The excessive use of pesticides is also a method of water pollution, which can lead to environmental destruction, the spread of infectious diseases, and a decrease in oxygen levels in the water. This, in turn, leads to the death of fish that live in seas and rivers, which are a source of food, and to a lack of potable water for drinking or agriculture, potentially leading to a long-term human catastrophe.
