Combine shapes to create a custom shape in PowerPoint

Sometimes, the shape you want is not included in the default shapes. When this happens, you can modify the shapes to get a new shape, as we will mention in this article. .

First: Union of forms

1- Select the shapes, then from the Shape Format menu
2- Merge shapes > Select union
3- “Union” is used to transform a group of shapes into a single shape

Second: Combining the shapes

1- Select the shapes, then from the Shape Format menu
2- Merge shapes > Select Merge
3- The “join” is used to convert a group of shapes into a single shape, but with the intersecting parts deleted (!)
(!) The intersecting part is deleted only if there is an even number of intersecting shapes in this part. .

Third: Segmentation of shapes

1- Select the shapes, then from the Shape Format menu
2- Merge shapes > Select segmentation
3- “Segmentation” is used to transform intersecting parts into separate shapes

Fourth: Intersection of shapes

1- Select the shapes, then from the Shape Format menu
2- Merging Shapes > Selecting Intersection
3- The “intersection” is used to find the common part between all the shapes

Fifth: Presenting the shapes

1- Select the shapes, then from the Shape Format menu
2- Merging Shapes > Selecting Subtraction
3- The “subtraction” function is used to delete the intersecting part of the shape that was first selected along with the other shapes.
4- The result varies according to the order in which the shapes were chosen; here, the triangle was chosen first.
