Editing an audio file with PowerPoint

Many people use PowerPoint to create presentations and many people also use audio files with their presentations but editing an audio file in PowerPoint can be a difficult task, although with the right tools and techniques, it is possible to use the program to edit any type of audio file and save it to the computer.

How to insert an audio file into a PowerPoint program

1. from the list of Inserts >Choice Voice > Sound on the computer >Select the audio clip to be trimmed on the computer
1- From the Insert menu > Select Audio > Audio on Computer > Select the audio clip to be truncated on the computer

How to edit an audio file and save it to your computer

1- Once the audio clip in the slide is selected, the audio tools will appear on the toolbar, containing two menus: Audio Format and Playback Options
2. from the list of Operating optionsSelect Truncate the sound.
2- From the playback options menu, select Truncate Audio.
3- To select where you want to edit the audio clip, in the Audio Truncation window press the Play button, when you reach the point where you want to perform the truncation, click the Pause button, you can use the green marker and the red marker to adjust where the audio clip will be truncated as follows:
  • To truncate the beginning of the clip, click the green marker on the left side and when the cursor turns into a double-headed arrow, drag it to the new starting position of the audio clip.
  • To truncate the beginning of the clip, click the red marker on the right side and when the cursor turns into a double-headed arrow, drag it to the new starting position of the audio clip.
3- To select where you want to edit the audio clip.
4- To save a copy of the truncated audio file for use outside of the program. Make sure to compress the media first before saving it Otherwise, the changes made to the audio clip will not be saved and it will be saved without any changes:
  • Select File > Info.
  • Select Media Compression, then choose the appropriate compression level.

  • When the compression is done, select the audio clip on the slide and then Right-click Above it and select Saving media K..
